General Info

Synaxis Baltica was established in 2002 as a student platform and network for university educational programs in Cultural Management and Cultural Policy in the Baltic Sea region.

Considering an european context of cultural management it becomes more important to keep national differences alive and to focus on projects in a regional border-crossing context. The countries surrounding the Baltic Sea can refer to a lot of common roots in the past and Synaxis Baltica wants to display them and create shared cultural values today and in the future.

The region has experienced rapid political, economical and cultural changes during the last decade. This leads to the conclusion that a network of this kind has an important role to play in order to create  a continuous dialogue on the theory and practice of cultural policy and cultural management in the Baltic Sea region.

The network aims to reach students, teachers and other interested people working on cultural management and cultural policy issues.
